WASHINGTON – The Entertainment Software Association (ESA) today issued the following statement on the U.S. Senate confirmation of Geoffrey Starks and Brendan Carr to serve another term as Commissioners on the Federal Communications Commission (FCC):
“The ESA and the video game industry congratulate Geoffrey Starks and Brendan Carr on their confirmation to serve another term as Commissioners to the FCC. Commissioners Starks and Carr honorably served the FCC in their first term, and with the confirmation of Commissioner Gomez last month, the ESA looks forward to the opportunity to work with a fully staffed Commission,” said Stanley Pierre-Louis, ESA President and CEO. “Affordable high-speed internet is critical to the video gameplay experiences of 212.6 million Americans and the ESA will continue to engage with FCC on the expansion of broadband deployment to ensure that all Americans can connect with friends and family all over the world to interact, learn, and play through video games.”
