Position Title: Manager, People and Culture

Reporting To: Chief People Officer

Location: Washington, D.C.

Position Summary:
The Manager, People and Culture will be responsible for the implementation and day-to-day management of many HR functions and ESA’s DC office operations. The Manager will report to the Chief People Officer (CPO) and work with other team members across the administrative team to identify, design, develop, and implement continuous improvements in all phases of HR and operational functions.

Duties include benefits management/processing, onboarding/offboarding employees, payroll and leave administration, compensation/performance system management, budget development and adherence, and personnel records management. The Manager is also a key member of the HR team on employee engagement initiatives and training & development programs. The Manager oversees the Administrative Coordinator and all their office management functions.

Qualified candidates will offer a bachelor’s degree or associate degree and a minimum of six years of progressive, hands-on experience in various aspects of Human Resources/benefits management. HR certifications are a plus. The candidate should be technologically proficient, detail-oriented, reliable, able to communicate well and manage multiple projects simultaneously. They should possess integrity and discretion.

This position is based in Washington, DC. ESA employees are in the office Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday and may work remotely Monday and Friday. The salary range for this position is 70-90K per year.
