The Entertainment Software Association issued the following statement on the successful piracy prosecution in the Western District of Washington:
“The Entertainment Software Association applauds the United States Department of Justice and the United States Attorney’s Office for the Western District of Washington for the successful prosecution of Gary Bowser, a prominent leader of the criminal enterprise that developed and sold illegal devices that hacked popular videogame consoles so they could be used to play unauthorized, or pirated copies of videogames. The video game industry supports the efforts of law enforcement authorities to protect intellectual property, which serves as the lifeblood for video game creators and device makers.”
